Each summer, a team of stage managers and technicians from RWCMD decamp to Scotland to manage Venue 13 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Over a period of three weeks they provide full production support for 150 performances. For stage management students, the experience provides an opportunity for them to immerse themselves in their craft and add significantly to their professional portfolio.
Since 1996, Venue 13 has been bringing the best of emerging talent from Wales to the world, with a real focus on theatre, but also contemporary dance and physical performance. In the last couple of years, the venue has also provided a platform for actors from the College to perform their own original material.
The venue is also the Edinburgh home of Los Angeles-based CalArts Festival Theater, and has also recently hosted a range of exciting and diverse work from across Europe and the USA.
