Singers Wait for the Beeps

Eight of our singers are involved in an interesting project this weekend, as they’ll be providing a ‘Fanfare for Crossing the Road’.
An international project by artists Ann-Marie LeQuesne, Fanfare for Crossing the Road adds ceremony to an everyday event, as Ann-Marie travels the globe getting musicians to dress up in uniforms, stand next to traffic lights, and closely mimic the digital acoustic crossing sounds.
So far the Fanfare has been performed by cornet players in London, trumpet players in Lisbon and percussionists in Helsinki.
The Cardiff crossing will be this Sunday (October 21st) at 2.30pm outside Cardiff Castle. Watch this space for the video once it’s released.
Meanwhile, here are some of the Fanfares performed so far.
