The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama has been chosen as the first ever European venue for the Lyon & Healy Awards, featuring competitors from across the UK and Europe.
The awards will be part of an international festival in February 2013, which celebrates The Ingenious Harp through performances, masterclasses, workshops and seminars, together with an exhibition of music and instruments.
RWCMD’s successful harp department is led by Caryl Thomas, one of the world’s most accomplished solo harp recitalists. Catrin Finch is a frequent visitor to the department and recent past students include Hannah Stone – Royal Harpist to HRH the Prince of Wales.
Catrin Finch and Hannah Stone will join forces to present an evening of Romantic harp music in the Dora Stoutzker Hall on Thursday 14th February to open the four-day festival.
