“After attending an open day here about five years ago now, I decided that this was the place for me. Despite the inevitable Welsh rain, the friendly atmosphere, great teaching staff and forthcoming plans for brand new facilities made me determined to study here.

I intend to prepare for the competition in the same way that I would prepare for any concert or audition: by giving it 100%. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to play in the beautiful Dora Stoutzker Hall alongside such talented competitors and I intend to enjoy and relish the performance opportunity.

Winning the competition would mean a great deal to me; I am currently attempting to find the funds to support my postgraduate study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama next year and winning would provide me with the means to move to London and concentrate on my studies there.”
