World Stage Design: In Pictures

We’re half-way through World Stage Design 2013 at the college, so here are just a few highlights from the 10-day festival of international performance design that The Telegraph describes as a ”vast and exciting” event.

WSD-Listeners

An exhibition of innovative designs for performance from around the world, featuring original costumes, puppetry, drawings, paintings, photographs and props, as well as interactive exhibits from lighting, video and sound designers.

WSD-Workshops

Workshops in everything from puppet making to lighting design, led by experts from all across the globe.

WSD-Talks

Talks from world-leading practitioners in their field of performance design – pictured are Academy Award-nominated costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis and Sammy Sheldon Differ.

WSD-Performance

Performances from 52 countries, featuring everything from sound installation from Singapore to Colombian shadow theatre animation. Many of them take part in the purpose-built Willow Theatre.

Exhibits from some of the world’s leading designers, like the designer of the London 2012 Closing Ceremony and the College’s International Chair in Drama Es Devlin (main image).
