Here are some of our musicians on stage during the recent Mid Wales Opera production of Acis and Galatea – our first co-production with a professional opera company.

During the production – which premiered in our Richard Burton Theatre – our vocalists covered roles and featured in the chorus, which was conducted by our choral conducting students, while our musicians performed alongside Rachel Podger and Brecon Baroque.

A gorgeous combination of young talent and aspiring professionals in a show that cannot fail to delight… with Brecon Baroque players and a student chorus on the side of the stage, this is a charming and inspired ensemble work” – Theatre in Wales

The College now has working relationships with all three Welsh opera companies – Mid Wales Opera, Welsh National Opera and Music Theatre Wales.

A collaboration that clearly paid off as the Greek myth based love-triangle tale was performed beautifully by the cast, chorus and orchestra” – Buzz Magazine

Acis and Galatea will tour the UK throughout 2014. You can read The Guardian’s review of the production here.
