If you went down to the woods today, you’d definitely be in for a big surprise, as lurking among the trees on a Welsh mountaintop were giants and goldfish, mermaids and acrobats, candyfloss and coconuts that sing…
This spectacle of spectacular characters was part of The Impossible Fair – a puppetry performance designed and performed by RWCMD theatre design students.
Senior Design Tutor Bettina Reeves says: “This summer term task has been an invigorating and exhausting nine weeks of: designing, decision making, puppetry construction, costume-making, tent-making, set building, painting, puppeteering and performing.”
“The show has been realised through a collective of creativity, unbridled imaginations, skill, passion, humour and pure hard work. Circus performers endeavour to make the impossible possible – this could also be said of our design students and their collaborators.”
