This weekend sees conductors from across the UK and beyond arrive at RWCMD for the Association of British Choral Directors Annual Convention.

The event has been put together by Artistic Director Neil Ferris, who is our Head of Choral Conducting. Over 200 delegates will take part in sessions covering everything from conducting skills to community choirs, workshops on repertoire and conducting skills, with visiting choral composers and conductors, including Adrian Partington, Paul Brough, Paul Mealor, Bob Chilcott and Roxanna Panufnik.

There will be performances by the multi award-winning Kyoto Echo Choir from Japan, Côr Cymru winners Côr y Wiber and the London Welsh Male Voice Choir.

MA Choral Conducting students will take part in a showcase masterclass with the Danish conductor Peter Hanke, as well as being inspired by and networking with choirs and conductors from around the world. Graduates Matthew Hamilton (New London Chamber Choir) and Edward Rhys Harry (pictured above with the London Welsh Male Voice Choir) will return to the college to present sessions at the conference.
