A College quintet performed at the Hay Festival and live on BBC Radio 3 recently.
The Lux Quintet are Alex, Alice, Emily, Gabrielle and Stanley. They performed live on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune alongside harpist Catrin Finch and baroque violinist Rachel Podger.

Coming live from the Hay Festival, the show also featured literary guests, like Alexander McCall Smith, Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman and Gillian Clarke, the National Poet of Wales.
Alice said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to be part of the BBC’s live coverage of the Hay Festival. The atmosphere around the festival and during the broadcast was amazing. We made to feel at ease during the broadcast, particularly by the presenter Sean Rafferty who created such a positive vibe throughout the programme.”
Alex added: “It was really interesting to see how Rachael Podger, Catrin Finch and the string quartet prepared for their performances, especially how they appeared to be more switched on for the gig and switched off for their downtime.”
