A life-sized prehistoric lizard erupting through the pavement into the Thames skyline is part of a PR campaign to mark the release of the Jurassic World film on DVD and Blu-ray.

Earlier this year, the company created life-size velociraptor models as part of an installation at London Waterloo Station to promote the film’s cinema release.

Wild Creations was founded by Matt Wild, a graduate of RWCMD’s stage management course. Matt, who discovered a passion for prop-making during his time at the College, went on to work in the Art Department for BBC Cymru Wales’ Doctor Who before founding Wild Creations five years ago.

The company, which recently moved to larger premises in Cardiff Bay, currently employs five people and aims to double workforce within the next year or two. For large projects, they often bring in a larger team of part-time craftsmen and women.

The ball in the wall at Cardiff Castle was originally to be taken down following the quarter final matches at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, but it has been so popular that organisers have decided to leave it in situ until the end of the tournament on Oct 31st.

Since it appeared overnight to mark the start of the Rugby World Cup in September, selfies featuring the ball have been shared around the world. On Twitter at one stage the hashtag #ballinwall even overtook #RWC2015 – the official Rugby World Cup 2015 hashtag. Totes AmazeBALLs!

Wales Online shared the story of how Wild Creation’s top secret project was finally unveiled.
