A huge congratulations to RWCMD Acting Students and Alumni for raising £1,180 to help Unicef UK (over 5 times more than their original target!) last weekend.
On their JustGiving page, alumni Scott Arthur rallied donations from supporters through social media:
“Any donations are welcome. We’ve been playing this match for the last two years and can think of no better charity at this minute than UNICEF to play the match in aid of.”
“Us actors might like to think 90 minutes of football is a walk in the park, but I can assure you a lot of us are past it and will be aching from head to toe days after the match.”
The Alumni team also included Tom Cullen (of Downton fame), and recent graduate Tom Rhys Harries (Hunky Dory, Jekyll & Hyde).
RWCMD Students and Alumni went head to head in a football match at Cardiff’s Leckwith Stadium, which ended on a tie at 2-2, before the Alumni team lost on the penalties round.
Our @RWCMD match in aid of @UNICEF was a huge success, raising £1,120. Ending 2-2 with Alumni losing on pens 😢 Thank you to all who donated! pic.twitter.com/ji7ltfcatk
