Saturday night marked Dame Shirley Bassey’s first visit to the new College building.

RWCMD students and graduates gave a glamorous and moving tribute concert to a packed Dora Stoutzker Hall and the Dame herself.

We’ve collected some of our favourite Instagram posts from the evening – what a night to remember!

“I’ve never had this in my life,” said Dame Shirley after the performance.

“Somebody singing my songs to me. They made me cry. Wow. It was incredible.”

The iconic Welsh flag dress, previously donated by DSB to the College, was on display for the after party.

DSB generously donated this dress, worn to the premiere of Spectre, to the College for auction with all proceeds going towards the Dame Shirley Bassey scholarship fund.

Finally, Studio One gets a name! The Dame Shirley Bassey Studio was unveiled before a celebratory supper.

A closing tweet from the Dame.

A huge thank you and congratulations to all students and graduates who were involved in the performance, and don’t forget to tag #RWCMD in your posts!
