Somewhere in a basement, seven reality TV stars are preparing to be voted off by the public.  Or to die.  It’s one of the two.

A play about the stories we tell ourselves to stay sane, the nature of hope, and the ties that bind us to others.  Literally.

Reality, written by Stuart Slade and directed by Grace Gummer, is part of RWCMD’s groundbreaking NEW writing season.

“Working as part of a festival has been even better that I could have ever imagined,” said director Grace Gummer. “It’s incredible, working with these amazing actors, stage managers, and designers. I make new writing plays because you get to set the rules yourselves and to decide what the production is saying about the world for the first time.

It’s a real privilege to share these discussions, and debate how the play will work and what it’s saying with the actors and involve them in that process.”
