It is with the deepest sadness that we acknowledge the passing of David Seligman OBE FRWCMD. David and his late wife Philippa took great joy in sharing their love of the performing arts and in supporting young talent, and we are so proud that our Opera School bears David’s name.
David’s extraordinary philanthropy, expressed through his involvement with many arts organisations across Cardiff, has left an indelible mark on the cultural life of Wales.
His integrity, wisdom, generosity and, above all, friendship offer a profound legacy that will continue to be felt for many years to come.

The work of the David Seligman Opera School at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, in association with Welsh National Opera, aims to ensure that Wales continues to produce some of the world’s leading artistic operatic talent, enabling emerging artists to train alongside some of the leading figures in opera today.
