The adjudication panel included Jean Rigby, John Harle and Richard Ireland.

“It is wonderfully generous of The Musicians’ Company to offer such significant awards,” said Royal Welsh College Principal Hilary Boulding,

“We very grateful to the Company for its support for young artists at such a vital time in their development.”

Grant, who hails from America and studies with David Childs, has won many awards during his studies at the College, including the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award, and the Best Soloist prize at the 2014 Welsh Open.

To celebrate Grant’s success in the 2015 RWCMD concerto competition, he appeared as a soloist with Cory band in October in the Dora Stoutzker Hall and appeared with the Central Band of RAF at RWCMD in March 2016.

His album “Genesis” was released this summer.
