This spring watch out for the familiar face of graduate Aneurin Barnard appearing as Richard III in new BBC Series The White Queen.

The year is 1464 and the conflict between the House of York and the House of Lancashire is reaching a critical peak after nine long years of war.  Based on Philippa Gregory’s popular series of historical novels The Cousin’s War, The White Queen follows the power struggles of three ambitious women behind the throne during the War of the Roses.

Aneurin takes on the role of the King’s younger brother Richard, the Duke of Gloucester.

“One of the most ambitious series the BBC has made… featuring a cast of extraordinary new talent and some of our finest actors.”
Ben Stephenson, Controller of BBC Drama

The ten-part series is being filmed on location in Belgium and is set to hit our screens on BBC One this spring.
