2013 Stoutzker Prize finalist Tianhong Yang talks about College experience as an international student and becoming a finalist in this year’s competition:
“It meant a lot for me to become a finalist in this year’s competition; I have entered before and it was a great experience. The final competition marks the end of my four years of study and I now have the chance to showcase my work. I am looking forward to standing on the stage once again and showing everyone the wonderful world of music and how I approach it.
I came to RWCMD looking for a different culture in which to continue my studies after I left high school in China. RWCMD has offered me great opportunities and chances to develop as a professional musician, and these are so important in making a career in music.
College has a very friendly environment and very beautiful and quiet surroundings where I can concentrate on my studies. If I were to win the prize money I would use it to help with the future development of my studies.”
