Great review from The Guardian of a new opera by composition graduate Spyros Syrmos.
The Blank Canvas was an opera that Spyros started work on while he was a student here at RWCMD, as part of the Make An Aria project with Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Music Theatre Wales.
Spyros developed the idea after his time as a postgraduate student, and the piece went on to win Flourish 2013 – a competition to find a new chamber opera. It has also been nominated for an Offie award.
