Recent graduate Betty Jane Walsh is one of several recent American and Canadian acting and musical theatre graduates who will be performing at RWCMD’s very first US Showcase at the end of this month.

Staged at an Off Broadway Theatre in New York the showcase will be an opportunity for RWCMD graduates to showcase their talents to US agents, casting directors and managers.

Betty is currently performing Samuel Beckett’s Not I at Sherman Theatre in Cardiff.

“I’m really looking forward to being back in my home town for this incredible opportunity,” says Betty.

“The New York showcase is a brilliant chance for those of us who trained in the UK to show off the skills that we’ve accumulated over our three years.

Royal Welsh College has been my home away from home and I wouldn’t have wanted to train anywhere else. It’s opened so many doors for me.

I’m currently performing one of the most challenging pieces of theatre ever written. With the help of my incredible director and voice tutor at the college, Patricia Logue, we’ve managed to get this piece on its feet and perform it exactly how Beckett wanted it.

I can’t wait to bring some Royal Welsh flare to the streets of New York this September.”

The RWCMD US Showcase takes place on Monday 26th September at the Signature Theatre, New York.
