Albert Herring: In Photos

Celebrating all things Albert!  Here are some pictures from our recent production of Britten’s comic, subversive opera, Albert Herring.

Can you imagine what time-travellers from the 1950s would think of the present day?  Visitors from the past arrive, complete with their preserved ideas of morality and social morals, fossilized in their own 50’s imaginations.

Played with a double cast and directed by Hodge International Chair, Martin Constantine, this production brings out the subversive elements in Britten’s comic opera.

‘The whole performance – dramatically, vocally and instrumentally – had both a vibrancy and a polish.’ says Seen and Heard International.
