New York jazz star and International Chair in Jazz Gilad Hekselman has been back at College working with our Jazz students to prepare them for two showcase performances in Cardiff and London.
Gilad commissioned one-set compositions from the students when he came here to work with them in January.
In the follow-up workshops this month, students worked on the pieces he’d selected as well as rehearsing a set of his music. They then performed together at the showcase performances in our Dora Stoutzker Hall, and London’s Vortex Jazz Club the following day.
