The Nat and Jake Show with Natalie Roe and Jake Thorpe

Live every fortnight on RWCMD’s Atmospheres Radio, and on NatandJakeShow Soundcloud.

Hi, we’re second year composers at the College, studying both notational and electronic music.

We’ve both recently been working on the sound design for the RWCMD NEW: 2020 series of plays, Half Full and Ripples, alongside writing music for our portfolios.

The Nat and Jake show is a brand-new fortnightly radio show on the College’s Atmospheres Radio station. We created it to give our fellow student composers the opportunity to get their music heard and to chat about their achievements while the College is closed. We want to keep the community interactive and show the continuation of the College through these isolating times.

We showcase new music from students and staff at RWCMD and chat about anything music related as well as College life. Currently, we have only showcased Composition students but we’d love to hear from anybody at College so please do get in touch if you have anything to share!

Despite the fact that we’re isolating in houses roughly 150 miles apart, everything you hear is recorded through microphones while being on a call to each other.

We also do this when we interview the guests. After recording the shows we then put the audio together and edit it ready to be sent off to Odilon, our lecturer in Music Technology.

We both want to say a huge thank you to Odilon Marcenaro for setting up the RWCMD Atmospheres Radio and for letting us have a fortnightly Friday evening slot on the station.

Our next episode of The Nat and Jake Show is Friday 1st May after AmserJazzTime – an Atmosphere’s special!

Catch up on our previous episodes on the NatandJakeShow Soundcloud  and our own work on soundcloud here – NatalieRoe, and JakeThorpeComposer.
